Duties
- Determine how best to represent a concept visually
- Determine which photographs, art, or other design elements to use
- Develop the overall look or style of a campaign or brand
- Supervise design staff
- Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by other staff members
- Act as liaison between art department and other company departments
- Talk to clients to develop an artistic approach and style
- Coordinate activities with other artistic and creative departments
- Develop detailed budgets and timelines
- Present designs to clients for approval
- Keep up-to date on industry knowledge
Qualifications
Education- degree in related field
Skills and Abilities
- 3 years work experience in art and design
- 2 years experience managing others in a business environment
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing and design for digital including ads, apps, websites and ongoing campaigns
- Experience in business branding
- Ability to work as part of a multi-departmental team to brainstorm, strategize, and produce results for clients
- Communication skills in order to listen to client ideas and effectively work with other members of Chess Tag
- Leadership Skills- must be able to organize, direct, and motivate other artists. They need to articulate their visions to artists and oversee production.
- Flexibility- able to organize and capable of handling many projects at once

Working Conditions
- Art directors may work from an office environment or on-site at non-standard work places
- Art directors may work a standard work week, however overtime hours may be necessary to accommodate activities such as photo/video shoots and client meetings.
